I will begin to share some songs that have spoken to me throughout my life and how they have impacted my life. Maybe one of these songs will resonate with you as well!!!! These songs range and span many a genre....so here we go.
The first song I'm going to post is ONE BIG MOB by the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
I listened to the album that this song is from (One Hot Minute) as a teenager. It was alright...was different from their regular funk and heavy bass. However, as I got older and more and more spiritual, it took on a whole different meaning. The first lyrics are I AM, YOU are ME. ONE BIG MOB is us...humanity after we became separated from Source. ONE BIG MOB, in ONE BIG HOME, Our Broken Home. The Earth. Submerge into the urge of we...They are talking about ONENESS!!! I was so delighted to realize this!!! It says that Everyone, no matter who you are...we are all connected. And lastly, the message:
Scrawled upon the wall
Of a bathroom stall
A stranger wrote a note
That spoke to all
One two, buckle my shoe
Take care of me,
'Cause I might be you
Really drove it home for me. Listen to the song again with these thoughts and see what it conjurs up for you! Until next time.......
Lyrics:
ONE BIG MOB
Pre-Chorus:
I am you are me
I am you are me
who?
Good woman said you gotta believe
Submerge into the urge of we
Deliciously the mystery, the mistery
Chorus:
One big mob
aw yeah, aw yeah
One big mob
aw yeah, aw yeah
Eh bara mala
aw yeah, aw yeah
Eh bara mala
aw yeah, aw yeah
Ooze into into my noodle
East or west, shepherd or poodle
Lady bug. pine tree
To mingle with the bumblebee
A lover to the sun
And a brother to the cool breeze
Chorus
We live in the city,
We live in the jungle
It's time to be drinking
A thimble humble
Everything you ever see
Is never more than you and me
Give it on into the beauty of the mystery
One big mob, in one big home
A broken home
I'd like to share some air with you,
Some air with you
A morning forest full of truths
The green is blue
The head that's getting pregnant lives
to give and give
What was I thinking in my head
The color red
Breaking hearts instead of bread
Something I said
Checkmated by frustration
Need to be cut loose
A different kind of being lost,
A sullen cost
PreChorus
Chorus
Scrawled upon the wall
Of a bathroom stall
A stranger wrote a note
That spoke to all
One two, buckle my shoe
Take care of me,
'Cause I might be you
Chorus
Picaboo street in Timbuktu
Do I need repeat
That a boy named Sue?
Rockin' to the beat
Of the kangaroo
Let me kiss your feet
And your forehead too
